On the river, and handed over in person
- On the Moselle cycle path
- The station sits on Rissbacher Straße in the Rißbach district, directly at the water. The Moselle cycle path runs past the door and it is about 2.5 kilometres into the centre of Traben-Trarbach.
- Handed over in person
- Ronald Stein hands out every vehicle himself, explains the battery and the controls, and tells you which route suits the day.
- By the hour or by the week
- One loop after breakfast or your whole holiday week. The rental period follows your plan rather than a tariff model.
- Four vehicle classes in one place
- A couple, a family with a child in the cargo bike, a rainy day with the car. You change the vehicle without changing the provider.
Four routes from Traben-Trarbach
Every route starts at Rissbacher Straße. Distances are rounded and given for one direction.
Moselle cycle path to Bernkastel-Kues
Distance20 kmBest withE-bike
The Moselle cycle path runs almost entirely flat along the water. Bernkastel-Kues has a market square full of half-timbered houses and the ruins of Landshut castle above it. There and back is roughly 40 kilometres.
Enkirch and Starkenburg
Distance8 kmBest withE-bike
Enkirch is one of the old wine villages of the Middle Moselle. Add the climb up to Starkenburg and you get the view across the Moselle loop. The gradient is real, the pedal assist takes it for you.
Traben-Trarbach and Grevenburg castle
Distance2,5 kmBest withE-scooter
The bridge gate by Bruno Möhring, built in 1899, stands at the riverside, surrounded by one of the largest collections of Art Nouveau buildings in the region. A steep footpath leads up from Trarbach to the ruins of Grevenburg.
Downstream to Zell
Distance22 kmBest withE-bike
Through Enkirch, Reil and Pünderich to Zell on the Moselle, known for its Zeller Schwarze Katz wine. The longest of the four, and a good full day out.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum age to rent an e-scooter?
In Germany you may ride an e-scooter from the age of 14. No driving licence is required. At Mosel-Mobil in Traben-Trarbach you show ID at handover so we can check your age. Every scooter carries a valid insurance plate. Carrying a passenger on an e-scooter is not permitted.
Do I need a driving licence for an e-bike?
No. E-bikes with pedal assist up to 25 km/h count legally as bicycles in Germany. You need neither a driving licence nor an insurance plate, and there is no statutory minimum age. The same applies to the electric cargo bike at Mosel-Mobil. For the car you need a category B licence.
Is a helmet compulsory?
German law requires a helmet neither on e-bikes nor on e-scooters. Mosel-Mobil in Traben-Trarbach recommends one anyway, especially on the descents out of the vineyards and on the riverside roads. Tell us in your request if you need helmets.
How much alcohol am I allowed to have had?
An e-scooter counts legally as a motor vehicle, so the same limits apply as for a car: a fine from 0.5 per mille, and from 1.1 per mille you are considered unfit to drive. On a bicycle or pedelec that threshold is 1.6 per mille. From 0.3 per mille a ride can already be a criminal offence if you show signs of impairment. On the Moselle this matters: if you are heading to a wine tasting, take the bike and plan the way back.
How far will one battery charge take me?
That depends on the assist level, your weight, the gradient and the temperature. This is why Mosel-Mobil does not quote a fixed number of kilometres. Ronny estimates the range at handover for the route you intend to ride and tells you where you can recharge along the way.
Is my request already a booking?
No. This form sends a non-binding request. Mosel-Mobil checks availability and replies with a confirmation, the total price and the deposit. The vehicle is reserved only once you have that confirmation. The rental contract itself is concluded at handover in Traben-Trarbach.
When does the station open?
